Organizational Structure
Alaska Virtual Academy is a very small virtual school. Currently there are 85 students in Alaska Virtual Academy. There are two teachers, each teacher teaches approximately 40 students. Alaska Virtual Academy serves grade levels of Kindergarten through eighth grade. They also have several special education students. The grade levels and special education are divided between the two teachers. One teacher teaches grades K-4 and the other teacher teaches 5-8. Students are expected to complete 5 ½ hours of schooling each day. Students participate in an online interactive whiteboard classroom.
